In keeping with this idea, we did see a possible association between high numbers of CD27/28-CD57+ CD8+ T cells and advanced (stage IV) disease ( Figure 2g ), although this did not reach statistical significance, and there was no association between disease stage and composition of CD4+ cells ( Figure 2h ).
