Another randomized clinical trial that assessed a low-energy diet compared to a normal healthy diet in overweight or obese patients with psoriasis receiving systemic drugs showed a trend towards a greater mean PASI change in patients on the low-energy diet versus controls (− 2.3 vs 0.3), although this difference was not statistically significant ( p = 0.06) [ 78 ].
