These two modes (III and IV) are observed only for the most hydrophilic samples (samples A and B with WCAs below 40°) at the highest RHs (50% and 70%). In general, a clear trend from a fractal frontline with a slow propagation rate to a continuous frontline with a fast propagation rate is observed when the RH and the hydrophilic nature of the surface increase.
