Although the differences in outcomes did not reach statistical significance, the findings with the higher supplementation regimen were compatible with a 28% reduction in bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) or death at 36 weeks postmenstrual age (PMA) (relative risk [RR] 0.72 [95% CI 0.37–1.41]) and a 40% reduction in neurodevelopmental impairment (NDI) at 2 years (RR 0.60 [95% CI 0.3–1.2]) [ 5 , 15 ].
