The results of the period effect analysis indicate that the risk of PF in the overall, male, and female populations showed a trend of initially rising, declining, and then rising again, with the lowest cohort effects in 1992–1996 for the overall and male populations (RR = 0.9, 95% CI, 0.89 to 0.9; RR = 0.9, 95% CI, 0.88 to 0.9) and in 2002–2006 for female populations (RR = 0.9, 95% CI, 0.9 to 0.91).
