Subgroup analyses showed a statistically significant increase in BMD with anti-diabetic drug administration compared to the placebo group in the lumbar spine (SMD: 0.93, 95% CI [0.13, 1.73], I 2 = 98%, p = 0.02) and femoral neck (SMD: 1.10, 95% CI [0.47, 1.74], I 2 = 96%, p = 0.0007), while in total hip, the increase did not reach statistical significance (SMD: 0.33, 95% CI [−0.25, 0.92], I 2 = 96%, p = 0.27).
