Considering the time-lagged results for private and public hospitals separately, the association was positive for private hospitals (β = 1348.18, p = 0.216; see Online Appendix, Table S17) but negative for public hospitals (β = − 111.85, p = 0.836; see Online Appendix, Table S18), although the effect did not reach statistical significance in either case.
