While there was no difference in daytime O 2 consumption between Ctrl and Lbx1 ΔMus mice, nighttime O 2 consumption tended to be higher in Lbx1 ΔMus mice than in Ctrl mice in both males and females ( Fig 3E ; the difference did not reach statistical significance), indicating an increase in energy expenditure in Lbx1 ΔMus mice.
