Both groups we studied showed a trend of a slight increase in their hsCRP concentrations during pregnancy, but we only found significantly higher concentrations in the group with complications in the second trimester ( Table 3 ). hsCRP concentrations are widely known to be higher in gestational diabetes and hypertensive pregnancy disorders.
