A ROC analysis aiming at comparing the predictive capacity of AUC-CV>40%, FEV 1 and D L CO at identifying patients with higher dyspnea levels (mMRC ≥ 1) showed that the AUC for AUC-CV40% was 0.78 (95%CI 0.61–0.95, p = 0.009), while that of FEV 1 and D L CO were lower and did not reach statistical significance [0.69 (95%CI 0.49–0.89), p = 0.07 and 0.59 (95%CI 0.39–0.81), p = 0.37, respectively] ( Figure 5 , Panel A).
