The increase of tau hyperphosphorylation in transgenic female was highly significant since 9–12 and 18 months-old mice (F 2,55 = 16.15, p < 0.05, p < 0.0001) Although a trend towards increased phosphorylated tau was observed in male animals regardless of the transgenic condition throughout aging, this increase did not reach statistically significant differences.
