No clearly significant difference was observed between the sexes either, though p-value reached borderline significance (z test z = 1.93, p = 0.05): age-standardized incidence was 1.86/100,000 (95% CI 1.65–2.07) for men and 2.16/100,000 (95% CI 1.94–2.39) for women, so confidence intervals were largely overlapping.
