The analysis also showed that an additional unit of BMI (within the range of 30–40 kg/m 2 ) was related to a loss on the utility index in both men and women but that the independent effect of weight was small and did not reach statistical significance, hence pinpointing the multifactorial nature of utility indexes and the need to consider other determinants of HRQoL alongside weight loss.
