Discussion This prospective, observational cohort study showed that: 1) 10-year survival after TAVR using first generation devices was inferior compared to SAVR in patients with severe AS and EuroSCORE II < 4 %, 2) TAVR was associated with a trend towards lower rates of repeat aortic valve procedures compared with SAVR, although this difference did not reach statistical significance.
