Sensitivity analysis, that was restricted to the studies that included patients specifically initiating NOACs, confirmed the previous results ( eFigures 17–21 ), with one exception: although ischemic stroke recurrence was lower among patients with early NOAC initiation, this difference did not reach statistical significance (RR: 0.74; 95% CI: 0.47–1.15).
