In one study, the mean values of brain-derived neurotrophic factor, glial-derived neurotrophic factor, ciliary neurotrophic factor, and neurotrophin 3 and 4 appeared to show slight increases after three MSC administrations, but the differences did not reach statistical significance ( NCT02165904 ).
