Suicidal thoughts or harming the self was more prevalent among patients at the age group of 30–60 (21.4% vs 15.2% of patients aged >60 years), among females (21.1% vs 17.9% males), among patients who had less than a college degree holder (22.2% vs 9.5%), and among those who were employed (21.2% vs 16.7%), although the differences in the proportion did not reach statistical significance ( P > 0.05) [ Table 3 ].
