Interestingly, a strong trend for a positive correlation between the thermal emission data and the pH was seen throughout the sites in 2016 (hot and dry year, Appendix A Figure A1 ), and thus, the use of remote sensing thermal emission data may be an effective method to determine pH levels under water stress conditions.
