A similar pattern was found in tumors with downregulated MCPIP1 expression; however, these changes did not reach statistical significance (Supplementary Fig. 6A‒C). pLIX D141N and shMCPIP1 tumors demonstrated an increase in CD44 staining compared with control tumors, indicating that the RNase activity of MCPIP1 regulates CD44 expression in ccRCC cells.
