Interestingly, plaques of GC‐B smko mice showed a strong trend toward more X‐gal + cells compared with plaques of control mice (GC-B smko : 5 ± 2 vs. control: 2 ± 0.4 X‐gal + cells per positive section, n.s.) and they contained significantly more X‐gal + cells than the media (Fig. 6h ).
