The area of collagen fibers was significantly reduced in the CA and CA + t- p -CA groups (28.1% ± 2.0% and 27.2% ± 3.4%, respectively; p < 0.05), as well as in the EEGS-H group (25.7% ± 1.9%; p < 0.01), and the remaining groups also showed a significant trend toward a reduced area as compared with the adenine group.
