Although the interaction term was found to be statistically significant ( p for interaction: <0.001), urban-rural disparities were observed only for males [hazard ratio (HR): 1.79, 95% CI: 1.21–2.62; p for urban-rural difference: 0.003], whereas the respective term did not reach statistical significance for females (HR: 0.86, 95% CI: 0.58–1.29; p for urban-rural difference: 0.487).
