However, only the GBD region of Western Sub-Saharan Africa showed a significant increase in the trend of ASRs for esophageal cancer for the observed period of 30 years (AAPC = +1.0%, 95%CI = 0.9 to 1.2), while the increase in ASRs for DALYs in the Caribbean region did not reach statistical significance (AAPC = 0.2%, 95%CI = −0.0 to 0.4).
