Children with DLD showed a trend towards demonstrating a positive influence of MLU (mean number of words per utterance) on their syntactic performance, i.e., the distance between related objects ( β = −0.012, SE = 0.006, t = −1.910, p = 0.073): children with high MLU scores placed related objects more closely in the dollhouse (see Figure 8 ).
