As expected, the increase in the alkyl chain increases the thermodynamic stability of larger nuclearity species, which can be explained by the larger dispersion interactions in longer chains. However, steric effects are significantly different in the methyl case, and thus, there is the lack of a clear trend in the nucleation energetics going from methyl to propyl species.
