The remaining 4 studies also supported a higher myocardial infarction risk in moderate-to-severe AD but did not reach statistical significance. 31 , 35 , 38 , 39 The Meta-analysis combining the results of 7 studies observed that patients with moderate-to-severe AD had a significantly increased risk of myocardial infarction compared to those without AD, with OR (95% CI) of 1.33 (1.07, 1.65), as shown in Fig. 3 , Fig. 4 A.
