In the comparison with the latest GWAS on DKD [ 18 ], none of the variants with highly credible evidence was replicated while eight variants (rs1801282 at PPARγ gene; rs5186 at AGTR1 gene; rs17300539 at ADIPOQ gene; rs1800629 at TNF-α gene; rs2070744 and rs1799983 at eNOS gene; rs4673 at NADPH gene; and rs7412 defining ε2 at APOE gene) with credible evidence were nominally significant ( P < 0.05) (Table S6 and Table S8 in the Online Supplementary Document ).
