In within-period analyses, during the pre-pandemic period unadjusted models demonstrated that each IQR increment in NO 2 and O x were again associated with an increase in symptom-based exacerbations (1.30 [1.16, 1.45]; and 1.21 [1.08, 1.36], respectively), and event-based exacerbations for NO 2 alone (1.16 [1.02, 1.33]), with a trend for O x that did not reach statistical significance (1.13 [0.96, 1.33], P=0.136).
