When John Henryism and discrimination were included as independent variables in the same model, the previously (shown in Table 4 , Model 1) identified inverse and significant association of John Henryism and prenatal depressive symptoms became attenuated and did not reach statistical significance (Table 5 , Model 1; β = −0.83; 95% CI: −1.81, 0.14, p > .05).
