In the free acidity ( Figure 10 A) and acetyl content data ( Figure 10 B), a clear trend can be observed: in the sample stored without any inhibitors, the deacetylation process was dramatically pushed until a lowering of the overall degree of substitution of the polymer (from cellulose diacetate to cellulose monoacetate [ 3 , 31 ]); a similar trend was also evident for RMPF stored in the presence of pure PVF and WP, for which the deacetylation was only slowed down.
