In a nationally representative twin cohort study from Sweden, a symptom-based analysis aimed at exploring potential associations between ASMT and autistic-like traits in the general population identified a nominally significant link in girls between a single-nucleotide polymorphism (rs5949028) in the final intron of ASMT and impairments in social interaction.
