The current results show that robust learning occurred within the initial practice session in both tasks and, importantly, the course of this learning was characterized by the basic phases of skill acquisition – initially large gains from one-to-the-next task iteration (“fast” learning) but subsequently a clear trend to plateau, i.e., a process well modeled as a power function (Adi-japha et al., 2008 ; Vakil et al., 2014 ).
