All patients, patients with cough at baseline and patients with GOLD stage 3 or 4 at baseline on mucoactive treatment had a greater reduction in severe exacerbations than controls, but the differences did not reach statistical significance, except for a significantly larger reduction in exacerbations with the patients with GOLD stage 3 or 4 in year 5.
