In secondary analysis where the measure for vegetation length was replaced in the full model by dichotomized length (≥10 mm versus <10 mm) or vegetation area (as a continuous variable), these alternative size variables showed similarly strong overall effects on embolic risk, although their differential effects by type of IE were only marginally significant (Table S3 ).
