There was a strong trend towards better operative 30-day survival for AVR(b) in the late half of the period (99.4% (98.9%–99.9%) vs 98.7% (98.0%–99.4%)) and a significant 1-year survival improvement (98.4% (97.6%–99.3%) vs 96.4% (95.3%–97.5%)).
