Gender-stratified analysis revealed that the odds of depressive symptoms were elevated in both females (OR = 1.64, 95% CI: 1.15–2.34, P = 0.006) and males (OR = 2.42, 95% CI: 0.99–5.88, P = 0.052), though the association in males approached but did not reach statistical significance.
