On a cardiometabolic level, V ′ O 2 max was unchanged following treatment with acetazolamide, although V ′ E / V ′ CO 2 , P ETCO 2 and F ECO 2 showed a trend towards being reduced, indicating the beginning of the ventilatory action of acetazolamide, which was expected not to be fully present in accordance with the chosen study design.
