Similar to Besachio et al., we demonstrated that the joint use of sinus attenuation and H/H ratio yielded a better diagnostic performance than that provided by either parameter alone, nevertheless the difference among them did not reach statistical significance indicating that in an emergency condition with no available lab results, measurement of absolute sinus attenuation can be used with a comparable degree of diagnostic confidence [ 1 ].
