The HRs for cardiovascular mortality declined with increasing DI-GM levels compared with the lowest category (i.e., DI-GM ≤ 3), being 0.887 (95% CI 0.630–1.249, for DI-GM = 4), 0.793 (95% CI 0.482–1.305, for DI-GM = 5), and 0.724 (95% CI 0.535–0.979, for DI-GM ≥ 6), with a significant trend observed (P for trend < 0.05).
