Although new incident HTN for hospitalized COVID-19 patients did not reach statistical significance compared to that of hospitalized LRTI patients, new incident HTN exhibited a higher incidence of new HTN at late follow-up, again suggesting the possibility of more latent effects from COVID-19 on the development of HTN compared to other pulmonary infections.
