Based on evidence from two studies of the last decade involving European patients [ 24 , 40 ], a non-significant association between AMD and PCME (pooled RR=1.42, 95%Cl: 0.06-33.23) was observed; a protective effect of dry AMD, which did not reach statistical significance was observed in the analysis of two European derived studies (pooled RR=0.61, 95%Cl: 0.09-4.31, two studies) [ 40 , 49 ].
