In the analysis restricted to LSBEs in the male cohort (Supplemental Table 1), the paradoxical association was more pronounced in the multivariable analysis with OR (95% CI) 0.48 (0.22–1.04), P = 0.06 for BMI ≥ 25 kg/m 2 and 3.18 (1.54–6.53) for central obesity, P = 0.002 although the former did not reach statistical significance due to insufficient number of subjects.
