At 5 days post-infection, all LNP-mRNA-RBD vaccinations led to reductions in virus titres in the lungs relative to LNP-mRNA-OVA-immunisation (mean reductions in viral titres of 1.8–2.6 log 10 PFU g −1 ), although the difference in virus titres between LNP-mRNA-OVA-immunised mice and mice immunised with the ancestral-type vaccine twice did not reach statistical significance.
