This finding suggests a potentially weaker association between SII and preterm birth than previously reported, although the result did not reach statistical significance in our analysis. 30 , 31 A retrospective study found that white blood cell counts and monocyte levels were significantly elevated in preterm patients, while lymphocyte, platelet, and hemoglobin levels were significantly lower.
