Although the differences did not reach statistical significance, the observation that patients with a BMI ≥ 35 kg/m 2 (Class II and III obesity) had even higher triglyceride levels than those with Class I obesity or a normal BMI supports the hypothesis that obesity amplifies dyslipidemic responses during acute COVID-19 infection.
