8 , 9 One of these studies, however, found a higher relative risk of primary open-angle glaucoma in participants with FECD, which, though, did not reach statistical significance and a higher incidence of OHTN and secondary glaucoma in patients with FECD after keratoplasty. 8 To avoid confounding factors including postsurgical anatomical changes to the angle structures and steroid use that may contribute to “secondary glaucoma” after corneal transplantation, we excluded participants with FECD who had undergone endothelial or penetrating keratoplasty.
