Furthermore, we found that the changes in sleep duration from normal to long or short were associated with poor functional outcomes at 1-year after stroke and patients with persistent long or short sleep duration were also at a higher risk of 1-year poor functional outcomes, but this association weakened and did not reach statistical significance after adjustment for covariance, which may be related to its small sample size.
