8 While our results demonstrated a trend towards a decreased likelihood of experiencing a postpartum complication with increasing haemoglobin levels, they did not reach statistical significance, similar to another smaller retrospective study. 13 Additionally, postpartum complication rates were no different in those who received exchange transfusions during the pregnancy compared to those who did not receive them, although there was a trend towards a slightly higher postpartum event rate in the latter group.
