In contrast, CVD was significantly associated with mortality, with an unadjusted odds ratio of 2.61 (95% CI 1.05–6.52, p = 0.039), indicating a possible risk for increased mortality that did not reach statistical significance in the adjusted model (adjusted OR 3.17, 95% CI 0.81–12.37, p = 0.097).
