While the retention cutoff at 1% of peak area did not discriminate completely against compounds with very weak antibacterial activity, there was a clear trend towards reduced positivity for compounds with MICs of 16 μg/mL or higher further confirming the utility of the method and the protocol for a larger screening campaign.
